Three Great Performers

By John Charles

If I called you up one day and asked you to tell me who, in your opinion, were the most influencial guitarists of the past 40 years, what names would appear on your list?

Woody Guthrie perhaps, or Frank Zappa, or Chuck Berry, or maybe it would be Barney Kessel, Pete Seeger or Chet Atkins.

No question about it, they are all great guitarists, but there are three names which you have not mentioned that I would go for.

If you asked me, I would chose Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, and Jeff Beck, although not in that particular order.

Eric and Jeff I am glad to say are still performing, but sadly Jimi died in 1970.

Let me now give you some background information on my three choices.

First of all, Eric Clapton. Eric was born in 1945, and in 1963 he joined the R&B group, The Yardbirds, but within 2 short years he had left the group as he felt that they were becoming an out and out pop group, and he was right.

He then moved on to John Mayall's Bluesbreakers for a short while before setting the supergroup known worldwide as Cream.

In 1968 Cream broke up, much to the sorrow of so many people, and Eric formed Blind Faith along with his former partner in Cream, Ginger Baker, and Steve Winwood.

However, Blind Faith did not last too long and so Eric went on to form Derek and the Dominos, and it was while he was with this group that he produced the fabulous song "Layla".

Sadly, drink and drugs began to take their toll of Eric, and he felt that he had to pull out of the music business, at least for a while.

But the good news is that Eric is now back and we are all awaiting the next great thing from him.

Who would believe that such an immense performer as Jimi Hendrix, the next person I want to talk about, only lived for 28 years? He was born in 1942, and died in 1970, a short life, but what a name he made for himself.

He is considered by many people to be the greatest rock guitarist of all time, and I would not argue with that.

Although for a while he was a sideman for Ike & Tina Turner, and the Isley Brothers and Little Richard, this enormous talent was just waiting to burst out, and he did not stay in the background for long.

Hendrix moved to New York and played in various bars and clubs, and it was whilst he was playing in Greenwich Village one night that he was approached by a member of the British rock group, the Animals.

And it was suggested to him that he head on over to London, and this he did in 1966.

And there he was able to display his talents to the full, a most incredible performer and musician.

Hey Joe was his debut single, and it still sounds great today, and in 1967 he cut his first album, Are You Experienced.

To really appreciate his performances you had to see him live on stage. Sometimes he would play guitar whilst it was behind his back, and sometimes he would play it with his teeth.

Seeing him live was truly an unforgettable experience.

When Jimi died in 1970 the music world lost a truly unique performer.

And so on to my final choice. A musician not as well known as Eric or Jimi, but a great guitarist nonetheless, and that person is Jeff Beck.

Jeff was born in 1944 in Wallington, England, and he has spent most of his time performing with various bands. He spent some time with the colourful character Screaming Lord Sutch until in 1965 he joined the Yardbirds to replace Eric Clapton.

When his time with the Yardbirds finished, in 1966, he formed his own band the aptly named Jeff Beck Group.

He spent some time working with Rod Stewart until Rod left to join the Small Faces.

Amongst other great names that Jeff has played with is Mick Jagger.

Deservedly, in 1989 Jeff was the recipient of a grammy award for the best rock instrumental in his album Guitar Shop.

Not so long ago I heard Jeff playing live, and even after all these years he is able to thrill his audiences with his skill. If you get the chance, go and hear him for yourself.

This is the first in a series of articles on great performers. If you would like to receive the next one when it comes out then go to my website where you will find my email address, and email me asking to be included in future mailings. - 16036

It functions on IPFS software to replace your iPhone's lockdata with essentially blank data. Are You Considering Bankruptcy?

By John Cooper

Is your credit situation making you think about filing for bankruptcy? Filing bankruptcy is a "last-resort" option for individuals who are experiencing trouble paying their bills.

Frequently, someone who files for bankruptcy has many bad credit marks on their credit report. They often have been rejected for credit recently, have creditors calling them and have multiple bills which they pay late or not at all.

It is common for there will be a home or vehicle which has been repossessed, or under the threat of repossession.

If you having problems such as these, then you are searching for relief. Not being able to pay your bills is stressful and humiliating.

If you are thinking about bankruptcy, it is absolutely critical that you discover the permanent repercussions of a bankruptcy.

Bankruptcy laws were created with you in mind. When you file bankruptcy, most or all of your debts will be erased.

This happens after your assets are divided amongst your creditors. This is possible, through bankruptcy, even if your assets don't pay all your debts.

This procedure is known as liquidation, or Chapter Seven (7) bankruptcy. Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the most popular type of bankruptcy. A "trustee" or government worker handles all the administrative and supervisory duties of the bankruptcy proceedings.

Chapter 11, 12, or 13 Bankruptcy provide rehab to your business, and choice of using future earnings to pay lenders. Once you begin the bankruptcy proceedings, creditors can no longer collect on your debts.

Also, you will not be able to transfer any assets that are part of the estate (so, forget about hiding your savings account or gold coin collection with a trusted relative or friend!) Further, transferring ownership of assets prior to filing bankruptcy typically does not work, and many are invalidated.

Recently, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that retirement saving accounts do not have to be included in your liquidation.

Bankruptcy and your credit reports - regardless of which bankruptcy you choose, it will typically remain on your credit reports for 7 or 10 years. Filing for bankruptcy frees you from your existing creditors, but not from any future creditors.

If you do decide to file bankruptcy, it will narrow your options. Good credit is possible to restore, but it will take some time and considerable patience.

Things to remember:

1. Any bad credit item can potentially be removed from your credit report.

2. New, current good credit will cause your score to improve.

3. Old, derogatory credit falling off your report will also boost your score over time.

4. You must monitor your credit reports regularly - and dispute questionable derogatory marks such as charge offs, collection items, and late payments. - 16036

A Bloggers Introduction to SEO

By Caroline Middlebrook

Many people don't think about SEO in the beginning and believe that it is something that can be saved for a leter time. However this isn't true because when done properly, SEO would be incorporated into your blog setup and it is much better to think of it from the outset rather than trying to correct mistakes later.

Why is SEO Important?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and it is a great way to get traffic because it's completely free and once the traffic begins to flow it can continue to pour in for months or even years. However it can take a while to get to this stage which is a good reason to bear it in mind from the start.

The cornerstone of SEO is content - you need text on your site that will rank in the search engines. Blogs are pure content so they make excellent targets for SEO. However it is also very easy to write a blog post that is not optimised for everything in which case you could be leaving a lot of potential traffic on the table.

Optimising Your Posts For On-Page SEO

The first step is to know what keywords you want to rank for. Keyword research is a large topic of its own and there is not room to cover it here so if you are not familar with that do a little research first. However, don't obsess over this because of a blog has to primarily appeal to humans and not just search engines.

Having said that, some blogs that are in more specialised niches can be quite easy to pick keywords for. For example if you write some kind of photography blog and you are writing a post which reviews a particular camera then a good candidate for a keyword would be the make and model of that camera as that it what people will be looking for in the search engines. There are several places that you need to insert your keyword:

1) The title - at the very beginning if possible. This is the single most important element.

2) The post content - your keyword should sppear a few times throughout the body of your post but don't go over the top with it.

3) Tags - If your blogging platform allows you to add tags to your posts then ensure that you add one that matches your keyword.

4) The URL - it is preferable for your keywords to be embedded in the actual URL rather than having something like www.myblog.com/?p=123

What About Existing Blog Posts?

Even if you have already started your blog and written several posts without SEO in mind there are still some tweaks you can make. One thing you must NOT do is change your URL though as otherwise your blog will start reporting broken links.

However you can change the text within your posts. You can tweak the titles, the text within the post itself and you can add and modify the post tags. Probably the most important change would be to alter your titles to make sure your keywords are as early as possible. For example, which one of these two is better if you want to rank for "make money online"? :

- 10 Great Ways to Make Money Blogging Today! - Make Money Blogging - 10 Killer Ideas!

The second title would be preferable because the keyword is the very first part of the title. You will also want to make sure your keyword appears liberally sprinkled throughout the body text.

These kinds of changes can take a while to take effect though as Google may not visit your blog very often, especially if it is new. - 16036
