I have made a short list of movie hits for 2008. These are some of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. Hopefully you will see some films here that you will enjoy.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: I guess it was a typical night out in Vegas. Young partiers Joy and Jack get up the next day and find out that they are married. After winning a huge jackpot, each thinks they deserve the prize, so they ask a judge for a decision. It is decided that they must stay together for six months, and try to make their marriage work. With an eye on the jackpot, they each try to get the other to give up, as both desire to have the cash for themselves.
HAMLET 2: Unsuccessful actor Dana Marshz has moved on to teaching theater classes at the high school to bored and unmotivated kids. When they lose a building at the campus, the administration decides the theater curriculum will get the axe. Wanting to fight, he is on a mission to save the theater classes by producing Hamlet 2, an original interpretation of the Shakespeare classic, which he writes himself.
TROPIC THUNDER: Starting with an incredible cast we soon see this movie is a classic spoof. Things are going bad, so to get his underachieving super stars to make a true epic masterpiece, the venturesome leaves them in the middle of nowhere. The goal is to shock them into the realism needed for a war film that will be recorded on hidden cameras. Unbelievably, as the director dies unexpectedly by stepping on a real land mine, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they are convinced everything is just an act, when things start to get very real. Here is a great cast with incredible make up for Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise.
IRON MAN: Super stud, engineering expert, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is captured by insurgent fighters in Afghanistan. He is instructed to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He sustained injuries during his capture, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To survive his injuries, and escape his captors, he creates a suit made of armor, which protects and strengthens him. We now have another super hero, Iron Man.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Trying to find his missing brother, a science professor goes on a mission that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This is another version of the original 1959 movie, which was based on the science fiction book by renowned author Jules Verne. Starring Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutchinson, this film doesn?t dissapoint.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: This is obviously the continuation to the highly acclaimed Madagascar. Our four animal stars want to return to New York's famous Central Park Zoo, from their first adventure. Instead, as the Penguins are up to their old tricks, they will wind up going to have more adventures first.
THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: It is one year later, in their normal lives when, the four saviors of Narnia, Lucy, Susan, Peter, and Edmund are mysteriously pulled back into Narnia. Fearing for his life Prince Caspian has blown the magic horn, praying that he will be saved. In Narnia, 1,300 years have passed since they were Kings and Queens, but they have been called back to rescue Narnia from an evil fate. With the support of the best fighters in the Narnia, including a very brave mouse, they will fight for the future of Narnia.
BOLT: Bolt: This film is a fun animation. Bolt, is a dog who is an actor, who in his role on television, has super hero dog powers. The thing about Bolt is that he is convinced he has superpowers. When he is accidentally finds himself in a real world situation, he discovers that he is just a dog. Now, trying to get back home, he is aided by a cat named Mittens, and an overweight hamster named Rhino.
STEP BROTHERS: When two 40 year olds, who both live at home with one parent, will now have to live in the same room because their parents marry, you can only imagine the mess. Put Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in those roles, and this seems to be a great recipe for a raucous comedy. This seems like a best bet for a good laugh in 2008.
These days just about everyone buys or rents these movies, so they can see them in the comfort of their living rooms. A more recent method for getting films is through downloads from online sources. The internet has many websites that will download virtually any movie ever made. - 16036
