The advancement in digital technology and microelectronics has included many applications like alarm clocks, calculators, Internet browsers, and voice memos for recording short verbal reminders, while at the same time making such telephones vulnerable to certain software viruses. Well I've reached the point with cell phones where I feel the need to lay down the law. There are some real abuses of wireless technology being perpetrated all around us, and the time has come to create some social order out of the cell phone chaos. This is by no means an exhaustive list simply because as the technology evolves, new annoying traits will surely emerge. But commandments usually come in tens, so think of this as the first Ten Commandments of cell phone etiquette, with amendments to follow.

The cell phone has become a kind of art in itself, in which a user's choice of phone and decoration acts as a kind of personal statement.

Each cell has a central base station and two sets of assigned transmission frequencies; one set is used by the base station and the other by mobile telephones.
