Favorite Films In 2008 By Dorinda: Free Film Access

By Kerri Climbes

I have put together a sampling of movie hits for 2008. This list consists of the movies I enjoyed watching this year. I hope you find some films here that are good viewing.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: Wild and crazy nights in Las Vegas are normal. Barely remembering what had happened, Jack and Joy get up the next day and find out that they are married. When they win a $3 million jackpot, each thinks they deserve the prize, so they ask a judge for a decision. It is decided that for the next few months they must stay together, and give their marriage a chance. With lots of money at stake, they each try to get the other to give up, as both desire to get the money for themselves.

FORGETTING SAHRAH MARSHALL: Down in the dumps after a devastating break up with his girlfriend Sarah, a television actor, Peter decides to take a vacation to the Hawaiian Islands to get past the break up. Of course, when he arrives at his hotel, he looks up and sees his ex girlfriend and her new man, who's bigger than life. This sets up as a fun filled romantic comedy.

TROPIC THUNDER: With an abundance of acting talent this outrageous flick is a claasic parody of popular war films. To get a realistic performance from his crew to make a true epic masterpiece, the now venturesome director into the middle of nowhere, and leaves them on thier own. The object is to overwhelm them into producing a war classic, which hidden cameras will capture. Incredibly, because the director walks over a land mine and is blown apart, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they are covinced everything is just an act, but the bullets flying are actually real. Great cast with incredible make up for Robert Downey Jr.and Tom Cruise.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Underacheiveing pothead Dale has just witnessed a crooked cop, and a powerful drug dealer, murder someone. They see him witness the murder. Realizing this, he is so shaken he throws down his joint, a rare blend namend pineapple express, and takes off. The pot is so unique, that it is possible to find out who has it. The game is on, as Dale and his dealer Saul are on the run.

THE DARK KNIGHT: In this film Batman, and law enforcement officials, have been taking down the criminal elements of the city. This has effectively reduced crime, that is until the Joker shows up, and things get a lot worse. Batman has his work cut out him now, as the Joker is dispensing an overwhelming assault on Gotham City.

Jumper: Nearing death by drowning, David realizes he has an unbelievable ability. He has the ability to transport himself to anywhere he desires to be, anytime he wants. Later, he becomes aware that he is not the only one that has this capability. Unfortunately, after a few years of fun, he finds out that there are those that want him, and all the jumpers wiped out. He must fight for his life, as those people try to track him down.

GET SMART: Maxwell Smart (agent 86) is at it again, and everything is under "CONTROL". KAOS vs CONTROL, gadgets galore, and all the classic quotes. This is a modern day version that looks back at the antics of Maxwell Smart.

ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: Rent is over due and Zack and Miri, life long platonic friends who live together, need to make some money. What will they do? Oh, thats easy, make pornos. Obviously this is a perfect enviornment for a funny film.

WALL-E: This picture is an animated, comedy, adventure, sci-fi. Mankind has left Earth, since it had become a pile of rubbish. Waste removal robot, Wall-E, has been left to clean up the mess. When Eve, another robot, arrives looking for any signs of life, Walle-E has a friend. When the spaceship returns for Eve, Wall-E somehow get on the ship, and thus starts the adventure of his robot life.

Many people will buy films when the come out on DVD, and views them on their home entertainment system. A new way people are aquiring movies is by downloading them directly off websites. Online providers have websites that will download virtually any movie ever made. - 16036
