I have made a sampling of movie hits for 2008. These are some of the movies that I think you might like. I hope you find a couple of movies that are worth watching.
ROLE MODELS: Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (William Scott), who promote an energy drink, are going to see some hard jail time because they binged, and trashed the company truck. The only way to avoid serving jail time is to perform 150 hours of community service. Their task will be to become mentors in a big brother type situation. The stage is set for some good comedy.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Heavy pot smoker Dale Denton has just witnessed a bad police officer, and a big time dealer, commit a murder. They see him witness the crime. Understanding that he has been seen, he unwittingly throws down his joint, a unique version called pineapple express, and gets away fast. The pot is so unique, that it is possible to find out who has it. The game is on, as Dale and his dealer Saul are deparately hidding from the bad guys.
FORGETTING SAHRAH MARSHALL: Ater suffering a tough split with long time girlfriend Sarah, an actress in a chessy sitcom, Peter (Jason Segal) decides to go on a trip to the Hawaiian Islands to start anew and forget about Sarah. Of course, when he checks into the resort hotel, the first people he sees are Sarah and her new man, who is a mega rock star. This sets up as a classic romantic comedy.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a quest to find his brother, science professor Trevor Anderson sets out on a journey that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This is another version of the original 1959 movie, which was about the science fiction book by highly acclaimed author Jules Verne. Cast includes Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutchinson, Anita Briem, and Seth Myers.
TROPIC THUNDER: Overloded with good actors the genre of the film is a parody of recent war movies. To get a realistic performance from his spoiled actors to make a true epic masterpiece, the seemingly bold director into the wild jungle, and leaves them there by themselves. He hopes to frightnen them into the realism needed for a graet war film, which hidden cameras will capture. Unbelievabley, as the director blows up on an old French land mine, the crew is left on its own, and they think there acting, but the bullets flying are actually real. Stars include Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise.
WALL-E: This film is an animation comedy. Everyone has been removed from Earth because it had become a big pile of trash. Wall-E, a robot built to remove trash, has been left behind to continue cleaning. When a recon bot (Eve) appears, checking for signs of life on Earth, Wall-E finally has some company. When the spaceship returns for Eve, Wall-E sneaks aboard, and thus starts the adventure of his robot life.
Jumper: While almost drowning, David realizes an amazing thing. He has the ability to actually teleport himself to anywhere he desires to be, anytime he wants. Later, he becomes aware that he is not alone in having this skill. After years of "jumping" around the planet, he learns that there are people that think jumpers are a threat, and need to be eliminated. Now he is in a fight for survival, as the hunters want him dead.
GET SMART: Agent 86 is back, and he has us right where he wants us. The classic James Bond spy spoof, agents hidden in plants, and the cone of silence. This is a modern day version that looks back at the world of KAOS and CONTROL.
ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: Rent is over due and Zack and Miri, roomies who have been friends since grade school, are desperate to make some money. What will they do? Easy, start making pornos. As you might expect this seems like a good recipe for a great comedy.
These days just about everyone buys or rents films, and watch them at home. An increasingly popular way to get movies is by using down loading technologies off websites. There are websites that will download almost any film you can think of. - 16036
